Music Together is interactive music and movement and instrument play to engage families with children four months through four years. It is during the first five years that music aptitude can grow and parents or primary caregivers who can best give the disposition of learning by their own passionate participation, regardless of musical abilities. Deb leads the parents who in turn lead the children. What is Music Together?

Music together is an early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, accompanied by parent(s) or grand parent(s). This researched-based enrichment program is taught internationally. Local classes are held in Manchester Vermont at the Mark Skinner Library on Wednesday and Saturday mornings and in Rutland on Friday mornings; classes are led by Deb Zaccheo, a musician and early childhood music specialist who has been teaching Music Together for 11 years. She leads the children and adults through a series of developmentally appropriate musical exercises, masked in fun interactive songs that are rich in tonality and meter and pitched in just the right range for toddlers and preschoolers. Each family receives a double CD and song and activities book plus a musical development guide, to continue making music at home, which of course only enhances the activities done in class. The use of instruments, movement, action rhythm chants and vocal plays help children learn to keep a beat and sing in tune; that is work toward achieving basic music competence during their opportune years when music aptitude is still malleable.

The adults are encouraged to participate as music making role models rather than passive consumers of music - which is what many are becoming in today’s high tech society. Children can learn skills from their teacher but musical passion comes from their primary care givers and desire is necessary to excel musically. Music Together with Deb Z begins September 13 & 17, for a 10-week fall program in Manchester and October 3rd in Rutland with optional re-enrollment for winter and spring semesters, each with new music and activities There are free demo classes on September 3rd and 6th.
