Holiday Music & Movement HO HO HO and “Tis the season to be Jolly (singing) “Fa la la la la” &( ringing) “Jingle Bells” while rocking to “Jingle Bell Rock or “ … around The Christmas Tree” ….. or spinning to the floor like Dreidels with child in arms! “It’s beginning To Sound A lot like ……. … a Music Together® ™ class… !! but with favorite Christmas and Hanukkah songs. Although families will sing, clap, dance, jam and rock in fun Music together fashion “Holiday music and movement” is “technically" not Music Together. Although there won’t be a CD and song book to take home Deb will supply everybody with sheet music and song lyrics. Most everybody will know these popular tunes ... like Rudolph - Jingle Bells, Silent night -. like Rudolph - Jingle Bells - Rocking Round the Christmas Tree - Silent night - Jingle Bell Rock - Frosty The Snow Man - I Had a Little Dreidal - Drummer Boy - Let It Snow - a German bell song - and a shortened "T'was The Night Before Christmas" rhythm chant and more. This four week series of fun & interactive Holiday Music & Movement classes are held Wednesdays 9:30 at the Mark Skinner Library in Manchester. Dates are December 3, 10, 17 and 24. No class on Christmas eve. Make upclasses available in January. Cost $50 (Sibling $25) MUST pre register.
Summer Music & movement Six week family music making Jam sessions are Saturday Mornings at MPR Park (back pavalian) starting July 19 and also at Castleton Free Library on Tuesdays beginning July 22.
This interactive musical hour is for parents, grandparents and caregivers, babies, tots, preschoolers, kindergartners and will include musical activities for primary ages too. (1st through 3rd) ALL Siblings are free for the summer!!!
Acitiviteis include singing, dancing,including circle dances, rhythm and tonal play. Older children and parents who play instruments are encouraged to play along (even beginners and rusty “old” players) The grand finale play along where children and parents choose from an assortment of percussion instruments to improvise & practice micro and macro steady beats, down beats, back beats and rhythm patterns – what ever rhythm stage of development. Experience a community music gathering and bring informal music back to your family!
Interactive kid/family performances for: libraries: fairs, special events, fund raisers, parties - cozy & small or large with a sound system. Music & movement programs developmentally appropriate for preschools, daycares, as well as special kindergarten music programs PLUS music for summer & school vacation camps
Also available - one day workshops, followed by a one hour interactive children's concert, for camps or schools
Inter-generational Music & Movement is held at the Equinox Terrace Retirement Home in Manchester Vermont. Together Equinox Terrace residents, babies, toddlers, preschoolers and parents sing, dance, clap and toe tap; plus play instruments and all that jazz along with Deb Z, who sings and plays on her guitar and harmonica a variety of traditional children's songs, some of her originals that were a hit at Long Trail Summer camp, as well as a some old-time classics that everybody knows. Including the residents at the Terrace makes for an extra rich family like musical setting as these folks LOVE to sing and boogie in their chairs and are great music making role models for the children. Siblings over age 5 are welcome to join in for free. Although the format is similar - this is not "Music Together ® - as there is not support CD's & a songbook included in the tuition.
Music camp for sevearal different age catagories. For 3's & 4's the curriculumn will be mostly music & movement & simple musical games with a little guitar & harmonica mixed in. (Children won't need their own guitar at this stage - but if they have one they are welcome to bring it). Ages 5 & 6 will be music/movement with more advance rhythm and tonal play plus FUN musical games. Group guitar and harmonica lessons will be incorporated daily. Ages 7, 8 & 9. will be focused guitar & harmonica and general music education (made super fun) mixed with a some music theater and show tunes. This group will also be musical helpers for the younger kids. And there will opportunity for children 10 and older to be counselor or counselor assistants and receive guitar, harmonica & singing lessons, as well as general music education, (made interesting & fun!) - each day after the campers go home!
